The Angels roll into D.C. riding momentum while the Nationals continue their late-season fade. Los Angeles has found some life in September, winning seven of their last ten and playing spoiler to teams still clinging to postseason dreams. Washington, meanwhile, is limping to the finish line with nothing but draft positioning left to play for.

The pitching matchup favors the visitors. The Angels are expected to counter with a starter who's been solid in his last three outings, keeping the ball in the park and limiting free passes. The Nationals will trot out a backend rotation arm who's struggled with command and has been getting tagged for extra-base hits all month. Washington's bullpen is equally gassed, having been overworked during a brutal stretch of games.

Offensively, the Angels have been scrappy, manufacturing runs through contact and aggressive baserunning. The Nationals' lineup lacks pop and has been particularly anemic at home recently, where the crowd has thinned out and the energy is nonexistent.

This feels like a spot where the better team simply takes care of business. The Angels have something to prove down the stretch, while Washington is already thinking about 2027. Expect Los Angeles to capitalize on a favorable matchup and grab another road win before heading home.
