White Sox Look to Keep Cardinals Reeling in Sunday Rubber Match

The White Sox just stole one at Busch Stadium, edging the Cardinals 6-5 on Saturday, and now they've got a chance to take the series finale and send St. Louis spiraling deeper into September chaos. Chicago's been scrappy all weekend, finding ways to manufacture runs against a Cardinals pitching staff that's looked increasingly hittable down the stretch. That extra-base power showed up when it mattered most yesterday, and the bullpen—shaky as it's been all year—managed to lock down the ninth.

St. Louis, meanwhile, is staring at back-to-back losses and a lineup that can't seem to string together the timely hitting they'll need if they're serious about October. The Cardinals have talent, sure, but talent doesn't mean much when you're leaving runners stranded in scoring position like it's going out of style. Their home crowd is getting restless, and the pressure's mounting.

DarkHorse nailed Saturday's call on the White Sox at -102, and there's a real case to be made that Chicago's got the mojo right now. They're playing loose, St. Louis is playing tight, and that's a recipe for another upset. Keep an eye on how the Cardinals respond early—if they fall behind, this one could get ugly fast.
