The White Sox just hung 14 runs on Kansas City yesterday and they're coming right back for more tonight with Bryan Hudson on the bump against a suddenly punchless Seth Lugo. Hudson's been steady all year with a 3.03 ERA and 1.21 WHIP, while Lugo's limping to the finish line at 5.06 ERA and 1.46 WHIP. That's a two-run ERA gap, folks, and in September baseball that's the difference between cashing tickets and watching your bankroll evaporate.

Chicago owns this matchup in 2026, plain and simple. They've taken six of seven meetings and outscored Kansas City by more than four runs per game in the season series. The Royals had their chance at home yesterday and got torched for 14. Now they're trotting out a struggling Lugo against a White Sox squad riding a three-game heater and smelling blood in the water.

The books have Chicago at -118, which translates to about 54% implied probability. That's borderline disrespectful given the pitching mismatch and Chicago's season-long dominance in this series. The Royals are at home, sure, but home cooking hasn't helped them solve the White Sox all year. DarkHorse likes Chicago at -118 with moderate confidence, and after watching yesterday's slugfest, it's hard to argue. Lay the short price and ride the hot hand.
