Four days ago, the Jets rolled into Denver and handed Colorado a 3-1 thumping, silencing an Avalanche squad that couldn't solve Winnipeg's defensive structure. Now they're right back at it, and the question is whether Colorado has the adjustments—or the urgency—to flip the script this fast.
The Jets looked every bit the more disciplined side in that first meeting, clogging lanes and turning the neutral zone into a graveyard for Avalanche transition chances. Colorado managed just one goal and spent most of the night chasing the game, a bad look for a team that's supposed to thrive off speed and skill. Winnipeg, meanwhile, got timely scoring and rock-solid goaltending, the kind of performance that travels well.
DarkHorse whiffed on backing the Avs plus the hook last time, and there's no published lean here yet—but if you're handicapping this one, you have to respect that Winnipeg just took Colorado's best shot and barely flinched. Home ice matters, sure, but the Avalanche need to prove they can solve what the Jets threw at them. Until they do, it's hard to trust them laying a number. Winnipeg's structure and confidence make them live again, especially if the price is right.
