Astros Fold in Philly: Four-Run Beatdown Sinks the +1.5

MLB

Well, that was ugly. The Astros limped into Citizens Bank Park and got stomped 11-7, blowing past our +1.5 cushion like it was tissue paper. DarkHorse backed Houston on the run line, citing Cristian Javier's—sorry, *Sánchez's*—2.58 ERA and the razor-thin pitching gap. Problem is, nobody told the Astros they were supposed to keep it close.

Philadelphia jumped early and never looked back, building a lead fat enough that Houston's late-game noise was purely cosmetic. The four-run margin made our +1.5 look foolish, and the "even matchup" narrative we sold? The Phillies didn't get the memo. Brown's 3.31 ERA held up just fine while Houston's pitching leaked oil all night.

Sure, both clubs came in 6-4 over their last ten, but this one wasn't a coin flip—it was a statement game. The Astros covered yesterday's +1.5 in a one-run loss; tonight they couldn't sniff it in a four-run drubbing. The math said take the run and the value. The scoreboard said we got run over. Philly's bats were the difference, and our starter ERA delta meant squat when the runs piled up like rush-hour traffic on I-95. Tough miss. On to the next.
