Bengals Torch Eagles 30-13 as DarkHorse's Under Gets Roasted

Well, that didn't go according to plan. The Bengals rolled into Philadelphia and hung 30 points on an Eagles squad that looked more like sparring dummies than a playoff contender, cruising to a 30-13 preseason victory that sent DarkHorse's under 36.5 pick up in flames.

We banked on typical preseason conservatism and limited starter exposure in Game 3. Instead, we got a Bengals offense that apparently didn't get the memo about taking it easy. Cincinnati's attack clicked through the air and on the ground, piling up points against an Eagles defense that looked disinterested at best and incompetent at worst. Philadelphia's offense, meanwhile, continued its preseason misery show, managing just 13 points and doing absolutely nothing to suggest they're ready for meaningful football.

The 43 combined points sailed over our number by nearly a touchdown, and there's no sugarcoating it—this one stings. The logic was sound: protect the stars, vanilla schemes, backup quarterbacks who can't find their receivers. But Cincinnati came out aggressive while Philadelphia's defense took the night off entirely. Sometimes the book gets rewritten, and tonight the Bengals torched every page. Onto the regular season, where hopefully coaches remember what "conservative" means.
