Bills' 33-point eruption exposes the pretenders at the top

NFL

The Bills aren't just 6-1—they're averaging 33.3 points per game and making everyone else look like they're playing a different sport. Buffalo is the only team in the top tier actually backing up their record with elite offensive firepower, and it's not particularly close. San Francisco and Minnesota share that 6-1 mark, but the Niners are putting up 28.1 per game while the Vikings are limping along at 20.8. Minnesota's defense must be suffocating opponents because that offensive output screams "living on borrowed time."

Kansas City at 5-1 with just 23.8 points per game? That's championship pedigree meeting reality—they're winning ugly, and it'll work until it doesn't. The Steelers at 6-2 are the definition of grit over glamour, grinding out wins with 21.9 PPG. Pittsburgh backers know the deal: take the under and cash tickets.

Now let's talk about the frauds lurking in playoff position. The Broncos are 5-2 despite averaging a paltry 20.6 points—Denver's winning games 17-14 and praying their defense holds. Meanwhile, the Lions at 5-2 are dropping 30.7 per game and should absolutely be higher in these standings. Detroit is the best team nobody's properly afraid of yet.

The Cowboys at 3-4 are the league's most fascinating disaster—27.0 PPG suggests they should be winning, but Dallas keeps finding creative ways to lose. Same story in Carolina (25.4 PPG, 3-4). These teams are better than their records indicate, which makes them dangerous spoiler bets down the stretch.

At the bottom, the Chargers are historically bad at 0-7 with 15.0 PPG. The Titans at 1-7 aren't much better at 15.4. When you can't crack 16 points per game in 2026, you're not just losing—you're unwatchable. The Dolphins' 1-6 start at 16.3 PPG confirms Miami's window has slammed shut. Fade them all and sleep soundly.
