Blue Jays Edge Mariners 4-3 as DarkHorse Cashes Home Favorite

MLB

The Blue Jays survived a tight one at Rogers Centre, holding off Seattle 4-3 to deliver another winner for The Stable. Our -130 price on Toronto hits clean, banking on home field and a pitching edge that proved just enough to separate two middling clubs.

Neither starter dominated—Soriano and Anderson both lived down to their pedestrian ERAs—but Toronto's lineup manufactured just enough offense to stay ahead. The Jays built an early cushion and held serve through the late innings, never trailing despite Seattle's push. That 8-1 blowout momentum from yesterday carried over just enough to keep the home side confident, even as the Mariners made it interesting down the stretch.

This wasn't pretty baseball, but we didn't need pretty. We needed the modest pitching gap and home cooking to tilt a coin-flip game, and that's exactly what happened. The 0.54 ERA difference between starters materialized as advertised—not a blowout separator, but enough edge in a tight one. Seattle's road struggles (now 4-6 away) continue to validate our fade, while Toronto improves to 6-4 at home.

Fair value at -130 implied 56.5% win probability. We got our 57th percentile outcome. That's called handicapping, folks. Chalk another one up.
