Blue Jays Edge Yankees 4-3 as Cease Delivers the Goods

MLB

The DarkHorse desk called it: Dylan Cease was the difference-maker, and the Blue Jays squeaked past the Yankees 4-3 to cash our -110 ticket. Sometimes the math is simple—you back the ace, you collect the winnings.

Cease didn't need to be perfect, just better than Ryan Weathers, and he delivered exactly that. The Blue Jays' offense manufactured just enough run support to make the 1.14 ERA gap between starters hold up in real life, not just on paper. Toronto's bats did what they needed against Weathers, exploiting the matchup advantage we highlighted all along. Meanwhile, Cease kept New York's five-game home win streak from reaching six, stifling a lineup that had been rolling.

This wasn't some blowout—4-3 games are never comfortable—but that's baseball. The Yankees pushed late, making it interesting, but couldn't overcome the starting pitching deficit. When you've got an elite arm like Cease on the bump at essentially a coin-flip price, you hammer it. The road struggles (4-4 coming in) and Yankee Stadium momentum were real concerns, but superior pitching trumps trends every time.

We said 55-57% true win probability at -110 was value. Turns out we were right. Cease dominated, the pick hit, and The Stable eats tonight.
