Braves Hold Off Rockies Rally, Take 6-4 Win at Truist Park

MLB

The Braves did what they needed to do at home, holding off a scrappy Rockies squad 6-4 in a game that was closer than Atlanta probably wanted. The Braves built themselves a cushion early and spent the rest of the night white-knuckling it as Colorado kept chipping away.

Atlanta's offense got busy when it mattered, staking their pitching staff to a lead that proved just enough. The Rockies, playing the role of pesky road underdogs, made things interesting late but couldn't complete the comeback. Credit to Atlanta's bullpen for slamming the door when Colorado threatened to make this one truly uncomfortable.

This was classic Rockies baseball—hang around, make it interesting, but ultimately fall short when the altitude advantage disappears. Meanwhile, the Braves took care of business against a sub-.500 opponent, which is exactly what contenders are supposed to do in June.

The Stable didn't have a published pick on this one, so no victory laps or hand-wringing required. Just a straightforward win for the home favorite and another long flight back to Denver for a Rockies team that's getting used to moral victories. Atlanta moves on, Colorado moves along, and the beat continues.
