Brewers Escape With 8-6 Win as Henderson Delivers the Goods

MLB

The Brewers held on for an 8-6 victory over the Cubs at American Family Field, and DarkHorse's -135 play on Milwaukee cashes exactly as projected. Logan Henderson justified every bit of that 1.90 ERA advantage we hammered in the write-up, giving the Brewers the pitching edge needed to build an early cushion. Kevin Gausman continued his season-long struggles, getting tagged for runs while Henderson kept Chicago's bats in check when it mattered most.

Milwaukee's offense did the heavy lifting, plating eight runs and providing enough separation despite a late Cubs rally that made the final score closer than the game felt. Pete Crow-Armstrong showed flashes of that .95 OPS upside, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome the Brewers' home cooking. That 4-1 recent home record wasn't a fluke—Milwaukee protected their turf again, and the 3.4 runs-against average held up under pressure.

The market set this at 54.7% implied probability for Milwaukee. Laughable. Henderson's elite metrics (2.48 ERA, 0.79 WHIP) against Gausman's bloated numbers (4.38 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) was always going to tilt this game. We laid the juice with confidence, and the Brewers delivered. Chalk up another winner for The Stable.
