Broncos Ride Offensive Surge Past Cardinals in 30-16 Rout
So much for defensive slugfests. The Broncos torched our under 43.0 call, dropping 30 on Arizona in a road performance that made our 15.67 away PPG projection look downright silly. Denver's offense showed up when it mattered, exploiting that "severely compromised" Cardinals attack we'd been banking on to keep this low-scoring.
The 46-point total sailed over the number, and frankly, we should've seen it coming. Yes, Arizona's offense remains a dumpster fire at 16 points—right in line with their miserable 14.0 home average—but Denver's defensive stoutness evaporated when they needed to actually close out a game. Thirty points on the road? That's nearly double their away average and a massive red flag we missed in the tape.
Credit where it's due: the Broncos' offense found another gear while Arizona continued their offensive futility without Love and Gaines. But that Cardinals defense, which we thought might keep things respectable, got shredded for 30. The under never had a chance once Denver hit the gas.
Bottom line: we nailed Arizona's offensive struggles but completely whiffed on Denver's road explosion. The Broncos covered, the over cashed, and we're left holding a losing ticket. Onto the next one.
