Browns Offense No-Shows in Pittsburgh Beatdown
Well, that was ugly. The Browns limped into Pittsburgh and got absolutely throttled 27-6, turning our Cleveland +3.5 ticket into expensive toilet paper. So much for divisional revenge.
Here's the problem with banking on "they did it once, they'll do it again" logic: sometimes lightning doesn't strike twice. That earlier 27-24 Browns win? Apparently a fluke. Cleveland's offense, which we thought could keep this competitive, managed a pathetic six points. Six. That's two field goals and a whole lot of punting. Whatever magic they had a month ago stayed in Cleveland.
Pittsburgh's defense clamped down like a vice, and the Steelers' home dominance we mentioned in the pick—28 points per game at home—showed up right on schedule at 27. Meanwhile, Cleveland's vaunted defense that supposedly held teams to 20.86 per game got boat-raced for nearly four touchdowns.
The "divisional games play tight" angle? Not when one team forgets how to move the football. The Browns' two-game win streak hit a brick wall made of terrible towels. This wasn't competitive. This wasn't close. This was a 21-point annihilation that never felt closer than the final score suggests.
Sometimes the sharp angle is just wrong. This was one of those times.
