Bruins Survive Blackhawks Scare in Nail-Biter at TD Garden
The Bruins needed every last second to escape with a 5-4 win over the Blackhawks at TD Garden, and let's be honest—this one got way too close for comfort. Boston looked like they had this one wrapped up, only to watch Chicago claw back and make it a genuine sweat down the stretch.
Credit where it's due: the Blackhawks didn't roll over despite coming into hostile territory. They kept pushing, kept finding answers, and turned what should've been a routine Bruins victory into a genuine test of nerves. Boston's defense had more holes than a practice net in the third period, and Chicago exploited every single one.
The Bruins ultimately held on, but this wasn't the dominant performance you'd expect from a home favorite against a rebuilding squad. Five goals should be enough to put away the Blackhawks comfortably, yet here we are talking about how Boston nearly coughed it up. The offense did its job—barely—while the backend looked shaky when it mattered most.
DarkHorse didn't touch this one, which in retrospect was probably wise given how unpredictable it turned out. Sometimes the best bet is no bet at all. Boston gets the two points, but they'll need to tighten up if they want to avoid more scares like this.
