Game Recap
Cowboys Torch Backup QB, Blow Past the Under in Philly Blowout
Well, that didn't go according to plan. The Cowboys rolled into Philadelphia and hung 38 points on a depleted Eagles squad, turning what looked like a prime defensive slugfest into a one-sided rout. Final score: Dallas 38, Eagles 21. Our under 44.0? Missed by 15 points, and it wasn't even close down the stretch.
The logic was sound on paper—backup QB Tanner McKee in his second career start, no DeVonta Smith, no Dontayvion Wicks, Saquon Barkley's hamstring a question mark. Philadelphia's offense was supposed to sputter. Instead, Dallas decided to play target practice. The Cowboys' offense, averaging a modest 22.33 on the road this season, found every crack in Philly's secondary and exploited it relentlessly. Whether it was big plays downfield or the ground game gashing a tired defense, Dallas put up 38 like they were playing a spring scrimmage.
McKee and the Eagles managed 21—more than their recent 16.4 PPG average—but it was garbage production in a game that got out of hand early. The total sailed to 59, making our under look foolish. Sometimes the sharp money gets run over by a freight train. This was one of those nights. Tip your cap to Dallas and move on.
