The Cubs offense, supposedly comatose at 1.8 runs per game over their last five, suddenly remembered how to hit baseballs in Massachusetts. Six runs will do that. Meanwhile, Boston's vaunted team ERA advantage evaporated faster than beer at a bleacher party—two runs doesn't win many ballgames, especially when you're the home favorite.

The season series dominance we touted? Irrelevant. The Cubs flipped the script entirely, making us look like we'd been reading last month's box scores. Credit where it's due: Chicago showed up, Boston didn't, and Imanaga outdueled the guy we thought had the edge.
