D-backs Blank Sale, Braves in Tight Shutout—DarkHorse Cashes the Runline

MLB

The Diamondbacks walked into Truist Park and did exactly what DarkHorse predicted: stayed within striking distance and made life uncomfortable for Chris Sale. Final score 2-0 Arizona, and that Diamondbacks +1.5 ticket? Easy money.

Sale was every bit the ace his 2.20 ERA promised—he carved through the order with vintage stuff—but Brandon Pfaadt matched him pitch for pitch. The Braves' offense, supposedly unstoppable at home, managed a grand total of zero runs against a "solid" arm the market treated like batting practice. That 9-1 home record? Meaningless when you can't score. Atlanta's lineup looked pedestrian, and the vaunted run differential evaporated under the lights.

Arizona's offense didn't explode, but they didn't need to. Two runs against an elite arm is plenty when your starter shows up, and Pfaadt did exactly that—keeping the Braves off balance and handing the bullpen a manageable lead. The Diamondbacks' recent road form (5.4 R/G) suggested they could hang, and hang they did—then snatched the win outright.

The market overpriced Atlanta's home dominance and undervalued Arizona's ability to grind. DarkHorse called it: away underdogs at +1.5 cover roughly 60% of the time for a reason. Tonight was textbook. Runline cashes, Braves go hungry, and The Stable eats.
