Diamondbacks Rattle Seven Runs Past Atlanta's Bullpen in Blowout Win

MLB

The Diamondbacks turned Truist Park into their personal batting cage Tuesday night, dismantling the Braves 10-3 in a game that stopped being competitive somewhere around the fifth inning. Arizona's offense woke up in a big way, piling on runs against an Atlanta bullpen that looked more Triple-A than playoff contender.

The final score tells the story – seven runs is a chasm in baseball, and the Braves never sniffed a comeback after falling behind. Arizona's bats stayed hot throughout, turning what could've been a pitcher's duel into target practice. Atlanta's pitching staff got shelled, plain and simple, and their offense couldn't muster nearly enough to keep pace.

Credit where it's due: the Diamondbacks came into hostile territory and played like they owned the place. Their lineup clicked from top to bottom, making Atlanta's arms work overtime and then some. Meanwhile, the Braves looked flat, unable to string together the kind of rally that's kept them dangerous all season.

DarkHorse didn't have a pick on this one, which might've been the smart play given how unpredictable these NL matchups can get. But if you had Arizona money line, you're sleeping well tonight. Sometimes baseball's beautifully simple – score more runs, win the game. The Diamondbacks got that memo.
