Dodgers Bats Go Silent as Sale Shuts the Door in Atlanta

MLB

Well, that was ugly. The Dodgers limped into Atlanta and promptly forgot how to hit a baseball, falling 1-0 in a game that felt like watching paint dry in a library. Chris Sale carved up LA's lineup like it was 2018 all over again, making our pre-game confidence in the Dodgers' "significantly hotter" offense look downright foolish. So much for that 4.47 runs per game over the last fifteen—tonight they couldn't scratch across a single run.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto did his part, pitching well enough to win most nights, but in a pitcher's duel this tight, one mistake is all it takes. The Braves manufactured just enough to push one across, and that was the ballgame. Our Dodgers ML pick crashed and burned spectacularly, a reminder that even the best statistical edges mean nothing when your bats turn to sawdust.

Credit where it's due: Sale was masterful, and Atlanta's pitching staff slammed the door. But let's be honest—this Dodgers offense was supposed to be rolling, especially on the road where they'd been averaging nearly six runs per game. Instead, they got blanked by a Braves squad we pegged as offensively challenged. Baseball, man. Sometimes the numbers lie, and tonight they lied through their teeth.
