Dodgers Pummel Rockies 11-5 in Coors Field Slugfest

MLB

The Dodgers rolled into Coors Field and did exactly what good teams do in that launching pad -- they put up a crooked number and never looked back. Los Angeles dismantled Colorado 11-5 in a game that felt over by the middle innings, turning the thin Denver air into their personal batting practice facility.

This wasn't some nail-biter that came down to the wire. The Dodgers jumped on Colorado's pitching staff early and often, stacking runs like they were playing slow-pitch softball. By the time the Rockies tried mounting any sort of comeback, LA had already built an insurmountable cushion. Five runs sounds respectable for Colorado until you realize they were basically playing garbage time baseball for half the game.

The Rockies' pitching staff got absolutely shelled, which isn't exactly breaking news when you're playing at altitude, but eleven runs is embarrassing even by Coors Field standards. Los Angeles did what contenders do against basement dwellers -- they showed up, imposed their will, and collected an easy W.

We didn't have a pick on this one, which is probably for the best. Coors Field games are chaos incarnate, and trying to predict run totals there is like trying to catch smoke. The Dodgers took care of business. The Rockies remained the Rockies. Tale as old as time.
