Dodgers Silence Braves Behind Glasnow, Ruin the Run Line Party
So much for Tyler Mahle's sparkling ERA being the great equalizer. The Dodgers waltzed into Truist Park and took a 4-1 decision, turning our Braves +1.5 pick into expensive confetti. We leaned hard on Atlanta's 1.99 ERA starter and their 6-2 season series edge, figuring this "even matchup" would stay tight enough to cash the run line. Wrong. Glasnow, the guy with the shakier 3.53 ERA, carved up Atlanta's lineup while the Dodgers' offense did just enough to push the margin past our number. Four runs doesn't sound like a beatdown, but when you're holding a +1.5 ticket, it's a two-run kick to the teeth. The Braves managed one measly tally and never threatened late, rendering that home-underdog cushion worthless. Credit where it's due: LA's bats stayed patient, Glasnow flipped the script on the ERA gap, and our "64% cover rate at home" stat got laughed out of the building. Sometimes the starter with the prettier numbers shows up; sometimes he doesn't. Tonight, Mahle didn't, Glasnow did, and we're left explaining why two runs felt like ten. Tough loss. On to the next.
