Dodgers Survive Coors Field Chaos, Edge Rockies 6-4

MLB

The Dodgers escaped Denver with a 6-4 win over the Rockies, but this one was messier than a spring training bullpen session. Playing at Coors Field is always a white-knuckle experience, and LA reminded us why—holding a lead in that altitude is like trying to keep water in a sieve.

The Dodgers built enough cushion early to survive the inevitable Colorado push, scratching across runs when it mattered and watching their pitching staff sweat through the thin air. The Rockies made it interesting late, as they always do at home, clawing to within two and making Dodgers fans check their blood pressure. But when you're playing in a bandbox where fly balls become home runs and singles become doubles, a two-run margin feels like a tightrope walk.

Credit to LA for doing just enough—six runs at Coors isn't dominant, but it's sufficient when you can keep Colorado from fully unleashing their offense. The Rockies showed fight, pushing across four, but ultimately couldn't overcome the deficit. No DarkHorse pick on this one, which is probably wise given Coors Field's tendency to make fools of even the sharpest handicappers. Final tally: Dodgers 6, Rockies 4, and everyone involved probably aged three years.
