Dolphins Find Their Pulse, Sink DarkHorse's Under in 55-Point Shootout
Well, that was embarrassing. The Bengals rolled into Miami and put up 31 in a 31-24 victory, obliterating our under 43.5 call by a solid 11.5 points. Turns out Malik Willis had a pulse after all—or maybe the Dolphins just remembered they're allowed to score more than field goals.
Our entire thesis hinged on Miami's anemic 11.5 points-per-game average, a number that looked bulletproof on paper. Instead, they nearly doubled that output, posting 24 in a genuine offensive showing that would've made their previous four games look like a scrimmage. Whether Willis finally clicked or Cincinnati's 21.25 points-allowed average proved generous, Miami showed up ready to trade haymakers.
The Bengals did their part, hitting 31 despite the Chase and Higgins injury concerns we flagged. Burrow clearly didn't need a full arsenal to carve up a Dolphins defense that had no answers. Both offenses found rhythm early and never let up, turning this into exactly the kind of track meet we bet against.
Sometimes the data lies. Sometimes a struggling offense wakes up at the worst possible moment. This was both. Miami's season-long offensive futility was the trap, and we walked right into it. Bengals get the road win, DarkHorse takes the L.
