Eagles Faceplant in Landover as Commanders Roll 27-10
Well, that was embarrassing. The Commanders just boat-raced Philadelphia 27-10 in a game that was never remotely competitive, and our Eagles +6.5 call got torched like wet newspaper. We leaned on divisional familiarity, Washington's defensive injuries, and Saquon Barkley feasting on a gutted interior — instead we got a clinic in how badly things unravel when your backup quarterback can't move the chains.
Tanner McKee, making his first career start, looked every bit the third-stringer against a Washington defense that was supposed to be vulnerable. The Eagles managed just 10 points and couldn't sustain drives, turning a projected tight slugfest into a one-sided beatdown. Meanwhile, the Commanders — who'd been leaking 28.67 points per game over their last six — suddenly remembered how to play complementary football and controlled tempo from wire to wire.
Philadelphia's vaunted road defense, which had held opponents to 22 per game, got shredded for 27 by a Washington offense we expected to struggle. The 40.5 total stayed well under, but that's cold comfort when you're getting run out of the building by 17. Divisional tightness? Not when your backup can't execute. This one stings, and there's no sugarcoating it — we whiffed badly on the matchup dynamics and McKee's ceiling.
