Giants' Home Magic Fizzles as Saints Roll to 34-27 Victory
So much for home-field advantage. The Saints waltzed into MetLife and torched the Giants 34-27, turning our +1 pick into expensive confetti. New York's previously pristine 3-0 home record? Dead and buried.
The Saints' offense, which had been averaging a pedestrian 21.3 points on the road, suddenly discovered their rhythm when it mattered most. They hung 34 on a Giants defense that had been allowing just 17.0 per game at home. Meanwhile, New Orleans' porous road defense—surrendering 34.3 per game away from the Superdome—tightened up just enough to keep the Giants at 27, seven points below their home average.
This was supposed to be a layup. The Saints arrived on a three-game skid, their defense bleeding points everywhere they traveled. Instead, they flipped the script entirely, making the Giants look pedestrian in their own building. The seven-point margin wasn't even particularly close down the stretch.
Sometimes the trends lie to you. The home/away splits screamed Giants value at +1, but New Orleans clearly didn't read the scouting report. Credit where it's due—the Saints showed up when everyone, including us, expected them to fold. The Giants? They just showed up.
