Game Recap
Giants Shock Houston, Send DarkHorse's Under Pick to the Glue Factory
The Giants walked into NRG Stadium and dropped 27 on a Texans defense that was supposed to clamp down at home, spoiling what looked like a textbook under setup. Final score: Giants 27, Texans 21. Combined 48 points. DarkHorse's under 42.5? Missed by a country mile.
Here's the problem with that sharp-money narrative: the Giants apparently didn't read the scouting report about their anemic road offense. Instead of the projected 16.5 points per road game, they hung 27 on Houston's suddenly porous home defense. The Texans managed 21, right in their wheelhouse, but it wasn't enough to save either the game or our number.
The under logic was sound on paper—struggling offenses, defensive matchup advantages, line movement suggesting sharp action. But football isn't played on spreadsheets. New York's offense showed up when it mattered, and Houston's defense that was supposed to tighten up at home instead allowed the visitors to cruise past their season average.
Sometimes the math checks out and the game doesn't care. The Giants got their upset, the total sailed over, and we're left holding a losing ticket. That's the business. On to the next card.
