Glasnow Gem Wasted as Braves Walk Off Dodgers in Extras

MLB

The Dodgers found out the hard way that pitching matchups don't mean squat when your bullpen coughs up the lead. Tyler Glasnow delivered exactly what we projected—seven innings of two-run ball, vintage stuff humming—but Los Angeles couldn't hold a 3-2 advantage late, and Atlanta snatched this one 4-3 in extras at Truist Park.

Bryce Elder? Mediocre as advertised, lasting just five frames and surrendering three runs. The Dodgers offense did its job early, staking Glasnow to that lead and validating our thesis about the superior lineup. But baseball's a nine-inning game, and the Braves bullpen—quietly excellent all season—shut LA down cold after the sixth.

Atlanta tied it in the eighth on a clutch two-out single, then won it in the tenth when the automatic runner came around on a sacrifice fly. Textbook small-ball execution that made our -143 ticket worthless.

The pick missed, plain and simple. Glasnow dominated, the offense showed up, and we still lost by a run. That's the cruel calculus of backing road favorites—you need everything to break right, and one bullpen hiccup erased all the edges we identified. The Dodgers' win streak is over at six, and the Braves improve to 3-0 against them this season. Sometimes the better team just doesn't win.
