Golden Knights Fall Short in Boston, Bruins Edge 3-2 Thriller

NHL

The Bruins squeaked past Vegas 3-2 at TD Garden in a game that came down to the wire. Boston did just enough to protect home ice against a Golden Knights squad that's looked mortal on the road lately.

This one had playoff intensity written all over it—tight checking, minimal odd-man rushes, and goaltending that kept both teams honest. The Bruins capitalized on their chances when it mattered, banking three goals while Vegas could only muster two despite generating decent pressure in the third period. Credit Boston's defensive structure for clogging the neutral zone and limiting Vegas' transition game, which is typically their bread and butter.

The Golden Knights pushed hard late but couldn't solve Boston's netminder when they desperately needed the equalizer. That's been the story for Vegas away from T-Mobile Arena this season—good enough to hang around, not quite good enough to close. Meanwhile, the Bruins continue grinding out wins at home, doing the little things right and making opponents earn every inch of ice.

No DarkHorse pick on this one, so we're just calling it like we see it: Boston took care of business, Vegas left two points on the table they probably wish they had back. Sometimes hockey's that simple.
