Golden Knights Grind Out 3-2 Win as Canucks Fall Short Despite Rest Edge
The Golden Knights proved fatigue is just a number, stealing a 3-2 road victory in Vancouver and leaving our Canucks +200 ticket in the shredder. So much for back-to-back legs being dead weight.
We loved the setup: Vegas rolling in on zero rest, Carter Hart's shaky .870 save percentage screaming regression, and the Canucks fresh off two days of practice and film study. The math made sense. The price was juicy. And then hockey happened.
Hart didn't implode—he was solid enough when it mattered, and Vegas found a way to manufacture three goals against a Canucks squad that couldn't solve them when it counted. Vancouver pushed late, made it 3-2, but that's the cruel part of underdog betting: moral victories don't cash tickets. The Knights' veteran poise showed up exactly when our narrative said it wouldn't.
Give Vegas credit—they're 3-3 in their last six now, but they know how to win ugly on the road. Meanwhile, the Canucks had every structural advantage and still came up a goal short. Hart's save percentage is still ugly, the Knights are still inconsistent, but none of that matters when the final horn sounds and you're holding a losing slip. Tough beat, but that's the game.
