Hurricanes Erupt for Six in Montreal, Bury DarkHorse's +1.5 Bet
So much for offensive struggles. The Hurricanes torched Montreal 6-4 at the Bell Centre, turning our Canadiens +1.5 pick into expensive confetti. We leaned hard on Carolina's anemic 1.67 goals-per-game and Brandon Bussi's .872 save percentage, figuring the Habs could keep it tight on home ice even in a loss. Instead, the Hurricanes found their shooting boots at the worst possible moment—for us, anyway—and hung a half-dozen on Samuel Dobes, who looked every bit as shaky as his .862 suggested.
Montreal clawed back with four of their own, so this wasn't a total blowout, but a two-goal margin is a two-goal margin. The puck-line math said sixty-six percent probability the Canadiens stay within one. They didn't. Credit Carolina for waking up offensively, but this stings—home ice and a supposedly vulnerable opposing netminder should've been enough cushion. The Habs were competitive enough to make it interesting, just not competitive enough to cash our ticket. Sometimes the market knows something you don't, and sometimes a team that can't score suddenly can. Tonight was the latter, and we're left holding the bag. Tough break.
