Islanders Get Steamrolled in Dallas, Stars Light the Lamp Six Times
The Stars absolutely dismantled the Islanders at home, cruising to a 6-3 victory that was never really in doubt. Dallas came out flying and never let New York establish any rhythm, turning the American Airlines Center into a shooting gallery.
This one had all the hallmarks of a mismatch from the opening puck drop. The Stars' offense clicked on all cylinders, potting six goals and making life miserable for the Islanders' netminder. Meanwhile, Dallas's defense did enough to keep New York at bay, limiting them to just three tallies that felt more like consolation prizes than genuine threats.
The Islanders tried to hang around, but you can't spot a team like Dallas multiple goals and expect to claw your way back. The Stars were too fast, too opportunistic, and too damn good at home. Every time New York thought they might build some momentum, Dallas had an answer.
We didn't have a pick on this one, which in retrospect might've been a blessing. The Stars were the clear-cut superior team tonight, and the final score reflects exactly that. Sometimes hockey's simple: the better team shows up, executes, and collects two points. That's what happened in Dallas.
