Jets Survive Slopfest in Nashville, Under Cashes with Room to Spare

NFL

The Jets escaped Nashville with a 23-10 win that looked every bit as ugly as the tape-watchers feared. This one was never in doubt and never entertaining—exactly what DarkHorse AI projected when hammering the under 38.5, which cruised home with 14 points of cushion.

Rookie Cade Klubnik managed the game like a seasoned caretaker, completing short throws and leaning hard on the run game while Tennessee's Mitchell Trubisky reminded everyone why he's bounced around the league. Trubisky threw two picks, missed open receivers, and looked completely out of sync with a Titans offense that mustered just 10 points against a Jets defense that was supposed to be vulnerable. Week 1 rust? Try Week 1 rigor mortis.

The Jets didn't exactly light up the scoreboard either—23 points came courtesy of field position, a short-field touchdown, and a defense that set up the offense in Titans territory multiple times. Both offenses sputtered through timing issues and conservative play-calling, just as the model anticipated. Bottom-five scoring units from last season don't magically become competent overnight, and this game proved it.

DarkHorse nailed the narrative: low totals in Week 1 between struggling offenses aren't traps, they're layups. The under hit because both teams are exactly what their 2025 numbers said they were—bad at football.
