Kraken Cash In as Flyers' Winless Streak Hits Eight
The Kraken did exactly what we said they'd do, riding superior goaltending and composure to a 3-2 road victory that drops Philadelphia to a historically dismal 0-8. This one wasn't pretty, but it didn't need to be—Seattle got the goals when it mattered and Joey Daccord did what Dan Vladar and company simply cannot: make the saves that keep you in hockey games.
Our Kraken ML at +100 cashes comfortably, and the logic holds up perfectly in hindsight. We backed the better goalie, the team with actual wins on their resume, and the squad that travels well. Seattle delivered on all three counts. Daccord wasn't spectacular, but he was steady enough to protect a one-goal margin down the stretch—something Philly's crease has been utterly incapable of all season.
The Flyers showed some fight, clawing back to make it 3-2, but winless teams find ways to lose close games. That's what happens when your goaltending is a sieve and your best offensive weapon is watching from the press box. Seattle's now 5-2 and proving they're a legitimate road threat, while Philadelphia's front office has to be eyeing the panic button. Eight straight losses to open a season is organizational malpractice. We'll keep fading them until something changes.
