Game Recap
Kraken Sink Mammoth 5-3 in Seattle, Offense Finds Its Bite
The Kraken took care of business at home, dispatching the visiting Mammoth 5-3 in a game that was closer on the scoreboard than it felt on the ice. Seattle's offense finally showed up after sleepwalking through recent outings, potting five goals and never trailing after grabbing the lead. The Mammoth hung around – you have to give them that – but they were chasing shadows for most of the night.
Seattle's attack came in waves, with contributions spread across multiple lines. That's the kind of depth scoring that wins games in this league, especially when your opponent can't match it shift for shift. The Mammoth managed three of their own, keeping things semi-respectable, but they couldn't string together the kind of sustained pressure needed to flip momentum. Every time they crept within striking distance, the Kraken had an answer.
Defensively, Seattle was solid enough. Three goals against isn't ideal, but when you're lighting the lamp five times, you can afford a bit of leakage. The Mammoth's offensive spurts were too sporadic to capitalize on any real cracks.
Bottom line: Kraken win, Mammoth lose, and Seattle's home ice advantage continues to mean something. Five goals will get it done most nights – this was one of them.
