Lightning Cash Heavy Chalk as Canucks' Road Woes Continue
The Lightning did exactly what they were supposed to do, dismantling the Canucks 4-2 at Amalie Arena and rewarding anyone brave enough to lay the hefty -375. Vancouver's road misery hit seven straight losses, and frankly, it never felt close.
Tampa controlled this one from the opening drop, exploiting the exact goaltending mismatch we hammered in the preview. While Lankinen's catastrophic .786 save percentage suggested he'd let in beach balls, he actually kept it somewhat respectable early before the dam broke. Vasilevskiy, meanwhile, was steady when tested, doing just enough to preserve the two-goal cushion that mattered.
The Canucks managed two goals—a moral victory given their 2.5 road goals per game average—but never threatened a comeback. Tampa's home dominance rolled to 5-0, and their 3.5 goals per game at Amalie Arena held true once again.
Was -375 a fun price? Absolutely not. Did it print? You're damn right it did. Sometimes in this business you pay the toll for the sure thing, and tonight the Lightning were as close to a lock as you'll find. The Stable ate chalk and walked away with green. Canucks remain a fade-on-sight road disaster, and we'll keep riding that wave until they prove otherwise.
