Mammoth Stomp Columbus on Zero Rest, DarkHorse Cashes Contrarian Call
The Mammoth made an absolute mockery of the rest-advantage narrative, throttling Columbus 4-1 on the second night of a back-to-back and proving that sometimes the sharpest play is trusting your eyes over the calendar. DarkHorse's contrarian Mammoth ML at -110 cashed comfortably, rewarding anyone brave enough to fade the "rested home team" crowd.
Sebastian Cossa was the story—again. After blanking his opening-night opponent 6-0, he picked up right where he left off, stoning Columbus through two periods and finishing with a workmanlike performance that made the Blue Jackets' two-day rest look like two days of rust. The Mammoth jumped ahead early, never trailed, and added insurance in the third to turn this into a laugher.
Columbus managed just one goal, a far cry from their opening 6-3 shootout, and looked every bit like a team that had been overthinking things for 48 hours. Meanwhile, the Mammoth—supposedly gassed from playing yesterday—skated like they had something to prove. The line movement toward Columbus should've been the tell: when the market zigs that hard against logic, sometimes the logic is wrong. DarkHorse caught it, we rode it, and now we're 2-for-2 to start the season. Fatigue is overrated when you've got momentum and a hot goalie.
