Marlins Sink Royals 6-3 in Kansas City Behind Balanced Attack

MLB

The Marlins swam into Kauffman Stadium and left with a 6-3 victory over the Royals, proving once again that Kansas City's home cooking doesn't always satisfy. Miami built their cushion early and never let the Royals get comfortable, controlling the tempo from first pitch to final out.

The Fish offense found just enough holes in Kansas City's pitching staff to plate six runs, spreading the damage across multiple innings rather than relying on one big explosion. That's the kind of professional at-bat approach that wins road games in the American League. Meanwhile, Miami's pitching staff kept the Royals' bats quiet enough when it mattered, limiting Kansas City to three runs despite playing in a ballpark that can be generous to hitters on the right night.

The Royals showed some fight but never mounted the sustained rally needed to flip the script. Three runs at home simply won't cut it when your opponent is executing on both sides of the ball. For Miami, this was textbook road baseball—get ahead, stay ahead, don't beat yourself. The Royals will need to find more offensive firepower if they want to avoid becoming punching bags for visiting clubs looking to pad their win columns.
