Nashville's Throne Gets Wobbly as Miami Lurks With Nearly Identical Record

MLS

Nashville sits atop the table at 12-2, but let's pump the brakes on coronation talk. Yes, they've got the best record in MLS, but Miami is breathing down their necks at 11-2 with an .846 win percentage that's a rounding error away from NSH's .857. One bad week and the crown changes heads. The smart money watches this two-horse race closely, because Vancouver at 10-3 is the only other side within shouting distance of these juggernauts.

Speaking of the Whitecaps, they're the league's most disrespected contender. A .769 win percentage should have everyone taking them seriously, yet they fly under the radar while Nashville and Miami soak up headlines. Vancouver's been rock-solid, and that third-place perch isn't fool's gold.

San Jose at 10-4 deserves props for quietly assembling a legitimate playoff résumé, while LAFC's 10-5 mark keeps them dangerous despite not matching their usual dominance. New England's 9-5 feels about right for a team that's good but not great.

The middle class is an absolute logjam. Chicago, Houston, and Real Salt Lake all sit at 8-6, followed by four clubs deadlocked at 7-6. That's eight teams separated by a single win, which means the playoff picture from seeds 8-15 is pure chaos. Cincinnati and Minnesota at .500 are the definition of mediocre, while DC's 5-5 record in fewer matches makes them hard to gauge.

Down in the basement, Philadelphia at 3-10 and Atlanta at 3-11 are actively tanking their seasons. Both are lottery-bound and showing no signs of life. Toronto's 3-7 isn't much better, though at least they've played fewer games.

The takeaway? It's Nashville and Miami, then everyone else scrambling. Bet accordingly.
