Oilers Dismantle Rangers 4-1 in Madison Square Garden Beatdown
The Edmonton Oilers rolled into Madison Square Garden and absolutely dismantled the Rangers 4-1, turning Broadway into their personal highlight reel. This wasn't close after the first period.
Edmonton came out flying and never let New York establish any rhythm. The Oilers' offensive firepower was on full display, potting four goals while their defense locked down one of the league's more dangerous attacks. The Rangers managed just a single tally in what became a frustrating evening at home. You could feel the energy drain from MSG as Edmonton kept pouring it on.
Credit where it's due: the Oilers played a complete road game. Their transition was crisp, their finish clinical, and they made Rangers goaltending look thoroughly ordinary. New York had no answers once Edmonton grabbed control.
We didn't publish a pick on this one, which in hindsight might've been the smart play or a missed opportunity depending on your perspective. Edmonton's been maddeningly inconsistent this season, but when they show up like this, they're still one of the most dangerous offensive teams in the league. The Rangers, meanwhile, have some soul-searching to do after getting thoroughly outclassed on home ice. This was a statement win for the Oilers and an embarrassing night for New York.
