Game Recap
Oilers Ride Road Dominance to Workmanlike Win Over Hapless Sharks
The Oilers did exactly what we needed them to do in San Jose, grinding out a 3-1 victory that cashed our ML ticket at -155 without breaking much of a sweat. Was it the offensive fireworks show we'd seen during their 3-game heater? Not quite. Edmonton didn't replicate that absurd 5.5 goals-per-game pace, but frankly, they didn't need to against a Sharks squad whose goaltending remains a tire fire.
San Jose's netminding woes continued as expected—whether Askarov's .862 save percentage or Jarry's brutal small sample, the crease situation is bleak—and while the Oilers didn't hang seven like they have on recent road trips, three goals proved more than sufficient. The Sharks managed just one marker, looking every bit the overmatched squad we anticipated.
This wasn't poetry; it was professional execution. Edmonton controlled pace, limited quality chances, and capitalized when it mattered. The pick hit because the fundamental thesis held: superior firepower plus road momentum versus catastrophically bad goaltending equals a comfortable outcome, even if the final margin wasn't gaudy.
Sometimes you don't need the highlight reel. You just need the two points and the cash. Oilers delivered both. On to the next.
