Orioles Rally Past Mets 7-5 in Queens Slugfest

MLB

The Orioles took down the Mets 7-5 at Citi Field in a game that had more lead changes than a heavyweight boxing match. Baltimore's bats woke up when it mattered most, scratching across runs in the middle innings to erase an early New York advantage and never looking back.

The Mets jumped out hot, building an early cushion that had their fans dreaming of an easy win. But this Orioles squad doesn't fold—they clawed back methodically, stringing together quality at-bats and capitalizing when the Mets' pitching staff started leaking oil. By the time the seventh inning rolled around, Baltimore had seized control and their bullpen—shaky as it's been at times this season—actually held serve down the stretch.

New York mounted a late rally that made things interesting, but ultimately fell short. Their offense showed flashes but couldn't deliver the knockout punch when trailing. The Mets' pitching staff, which has been inconsistent all year, once again couldn't protect a lead when it counted.

DarkHorse didn't weigh in on this one, so no bragging rights or crow-eating today. Just a solid road win for the O's and another frustrating home loss for the Mets faithful. Baltimore improves their road record while New York continues searching for answers.
