Game Recap
Rams Bury Winless Chargers 24-9, DarkHorse Cashes Easy
The Rams did exactly what competent football teams do to winless opponents: they dominated. Los Angeles rolled the Chargers 24-9 at home, covering DarkHorse's Rams -6.5 with room to spare and pushing our desk's record further into the black.
This one was never in doubt. The Chargers managed just nine points — somehow even worse than their anemic 15.0 PPG season average — while the Rams cruised to 24, right in line with their 24.29 PPG production we highlighted. Justin Herbert and that compromised offensive line couldn't sustain drives, couldn't finish in the red zone, and couldn't keep pace with a Rams squad that finally looked competent at home after stumbling to 1-3 in their own building.
The spread closed at 6.5, and LA won by 15. That's not a sweat; that's a statement. We called the Chargers' offensive futility, we noted the talent gap, and we trusted the Rams to handle business against an 0-6 disaster. They did, improving to 4-4 while the Chargers sank to 0-7.
Sometimes the sharp play is just backing the better team against a dumpster fire. This was one of those times. DarkHorse saw it, called it, cashed it. On to the next one.
