Rams Escape Philly 24-20 as Offense Finds Pulse, DarkHorse Under Gets Cooked
So much for offensive ineptitude. The Rams walked into Lincoln Financial Field and hung 24 on a supposedly stout Eagles defense, while Philadelphia's patchwork receiving corps somehow scraped together 20 points—enough to push this one to 44 total points and torch DarkHorse's under 42.5. Stetson Bennett IV wasn't supposed to light up the scoreboard, and Andy Dalton working with Zach Ertz and practice-squad nobodies should've been a disaster. Instead, both offenses woke up just enough to make believers look foolish.
The Rams built a cushion early and held on as Philadelphia mounted a late rally that fell just short. Credit Bennett for managing the game better than expected, and credit the Eagles' makeshift attack for refusing to roll over despite missing Smith, Goedert, and Brown. The 4-point line drop from 46.5 to 42.5 suggested sharp money recognized the offensive limitations, but apparently not enough—both teams combined to exceed their season averages when it mattered most.
DarkHorse's reasoning was sound on paper: depleted rosters, backup quarterbacks, ugly offensive numbers. But football doesn't care about your spreadsheet. The under missed by 1.5 points, a brutal beat that proves even the sharpest angles can't account for both teams deciding to actually show up.
