Rangers Limp Into Milwaukee, Get Boat-Raced 6-1 as Run Line Crumbles

MLB

So much for run line dynamics saving the day. The Rangers stumbled into American Family Field and got thoroughly dismantled 6-1, turning our Rangers +1.5 pick into expensive confetti. Logan Henderson showed up as advertised—2.60 ERA, sharp stuff—but the Brewers' supposedly punchless lineup featuring a parade of sub-.70 OPS bats? They had zero interest in cooperating with the narrative.

Milwaukee built a comfortable cushion and never looked back, cruising past that critical two-run margin we needed. Cody Bradford, the guy we labeled "competent" with his bloated 1.40 WHIP, somehow kept Texas's bats silent enough to make this one a laugher. The Rangers managed a single run—one!—and their brutal 2-7 road record that we acknowledged but hoped to overcome? Yeah, make that 2-8 now, and the 6.0 runs allowed per game away from home continues its ugly march upward.

The thesis wasn't insane: betting the +1.5 dog with historical 60% road coverage against a lineup full of holes. But when you score one lousy run, no run line in the world saves you. Henderson did his job; Texas's offense was a no-show. Milwaukee wins going away, and we eat the loss. Tough beat, but that's baseball—sometimes the weak spots bite back.
