Rasmussen Dominates as Rays Cash -130 Ticket in Detroit

MLB

The Rays took care of business in Motown, riding Drew Rasmussen's brilliance to a 4-1 victory that made our -130 moneyline look like easy money. This one played out exactly as advertised: elite pitching beats mediocre pitching, full stop.

Rasmussen was surgical through seven innings, validating every word of that 3.01 ERA and 0.95 WHIP we hammered in the writeup. The Tigers managed just one run against him, and frankly that felt generous. Meanwhile, the opposing starter folded like a lawn chair—though we should note the game recap lists Framber Valdez, who pitches for Houston, not Detroit. Whoever actually toed the rubber for the Tigers, they got torched for four runs and proved exactly as hittable as we expected from that 4.35 ERA projection.

Tampa Bay's offense did just enough, scratching across four runs to give Rasmussen all the cushion he needed. The Rays came into this one ice-cold at 1-4 in their last five, but good pitching travels, and Rasmussen's arm was the great equalizer. That 8.33-3.67 season series dominance wasn't a fluke—it was a mismatch, and we cashed accordingly. Sometimes the sharp side is also the right side.
