Ravens Backup Tyler Huntley Torches Atlanta, DarkHorse Eats Crow on Falcons ML
Well, that didn't age well. Baltimore's Tyler Huntley just pantsed our entire thesis, leading the Ravens to a 30-23 road win in Atlanta and making us look like we'd never watched backup quarterback football before. So much for that "catastrophic loss" without Lamar Jackson.
Huntley wasn't spectacular, but he didn't need to be. Baltimore's defense suffocated Atlanta's offense when it mattered, forcing two fourth-quarter turnovers that sealed the deal. The Ravens leaned hard on their ground game—predictable, yes, but Atlanta couldn't stop it—and Huntley managed the clock like a seasoned veteran, not the journeyman we expected to crumble under pressure.
Atlanta led 17-13 at halftime and looked poised to capitalize on the Jackson absence, but the wheels came off after the break. Baltimore outscored them 17-6 in the second half, with the Falcons' offense going ice-cold when they needed points most. The sharp money that hammered Atlanta? Turns out even the sharps get burned when a backup plays the game of his life.
Credit where it's due: Baltimore's coaching staff schemed around the loss brilliantly, and Huntley executed. We whiffed. The Ravens are 4-1 and laughing at everyone who wrote them off. Painful miss, but that's the game.
