Rays Make It Six Straight Over Toronto, DarkHorse Cashes Another Winner

MLB

The Rays extended their season-long stranglehold on Toronto with a workmanlike 4-2 victory at Rogers Centre, pushing their series dominance to 6-1 and delivering another winner for DarkHorse backers at -104. This wasn't the offensive explosion we saw in yesterday's 12-2 beatdown, but Tampa Bay did exactly what championship-caliber clubs do: they showed up, executed, and collected the cash.

Griffin Jax wasn't spectacular but gave the Rays exactly what they needed—enough length and just enough run prevention to let that superior offense do its thing. Braydon Fisher held his own for Toronto, but when you're facing a lineup that's been tattooing Blue Jays pitching for 6.67 runs per game all season, "holding your own" doesn't cut it. The Rays' .261 team average continues to be the difference-maker in this matchup, and Junior Caminero's elite presence in the middle of that order keeps pitchers honest.

Toronto's offense managed just two runs—right in line with their anemic 3.17 runs per game against Tampa Bay this year. The market had this basically even at -104, but DarkHorse saw through the noise: when one team owns another this thoroughly, you ride the wave. Six straight wins don't lie, and neither does our model. Stable members who tailed are eating well tonight.
