Red Sox Get Steamrolled in the Bronx as Yankees Cruise 9-2

MLB

The Yankees made this one look easy, dismantling the Red Sox 9-2 at home in a performance that had Boston fans reaching for the remote by the sixth inning. New York's bats came alive early and never cooled off, turning what could've been a classic rivalry slugfest into a one-sided beatdown.

Boston's pitching staff got shelled, surrendering nine runs while the offense sputtered to just two — barely enough to keep this from being a complete shutout embarrassment. The Yankees capitalized on every mistake, building a cushion so comfortable they could've sent their starters home early for pizza and beer.

For the Red Sox, this was the kind of loss that stings double — not only did they get throttled, but they got throttled by *them*. The rivalry demands better than rolling over in the Bronx like this. New York's lineup looked locked in from pitch one, and Boston had no answers whatsoever.

DarkHorse didn't touch this one with a published pick, which in hindsight feels like a mercy. Sometimes the smartest bet is no bet at all. The Yankees flexed, the Red Sox folded, and we move on to the next one. Rivalry games are supposed to have drama — this was just target practice.
