Red Sox Ride the Wave, Cash Another Dub at Fenway

MLB

The Red Sox made it two straight beatdowns of Arizona, cruising to a 9-4 victory at Fenway and proving that sometimes momentum is exactly as real as it looks. Our -170 tag hit comfortably, and frankly, this one never felt in doubt.

Boston jumped ahead early and kept their foot on the gas, piling up nine runs against a Diamondbacks pitching staff that continues to leak oil. Merrill Kelly's 5.11 ERA wasn't some fluke number—he got tagged again, and Arizona's bullpen offered no relief. Meanwhile, the Red Sox offense stayed scorching hot after yesterday's 11-1 demolition, racking up another crooked number at home where they've been an absolute wagon at 6-2 with runs flowing like Sam Adams on Opening Day.

The four-run output from Arizona was window dressing, too little and too late against a Boston squad that smelled blood from pitch one. Our handicap nailed the pitching mismatch and the home-field edge, though we'll admit the original writeup had some wires crossed on starter names—doesn't matter when you're counting cash. The juice was steep at -170, but when you're riding a freight train, you pay for the ticket. Red Sox backers got exactly what they paid for: another dominant Fenway performance and another winner in the books.
