Game Recap
Red Wings Steal One in Edmonton, Edge Oilers 4-3
The Red Wings rolled into Rogers Place and did what visiting teams aren't supposed to do against Connor McDavid and company—they left with two points. Detroit took down Edmonton 4-3 in a game that probably had Oilers fans checking their blood pressure by the final horn.
Credit where it's due: Detroit came to play. They didn't just survive the Edmonton onslaught; they matched it stride for stride and found a way to grab that extra goal when it mattered. The Oilers, for all their offensive firepower, couldn't solve whatever Detroit threw at them in the crucial moments. Three goals should win you plenty of home games, but not when you're giving up four.
Edmonton's got to be kicking themselves here. You've got the best player on the planet and home ice, and you're still dropping games to teams you should handle. Detroit's playing spoiler, and they're doing it with conviction.
The Red Wings' road grit showed up when they needed it most. Sometimes hockey's that simple—you score one more than the other guy, and you cash your check. Detroit did exactly that, and Edmonton's left wondering what went wrong. Again.
